ABOUT ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND

The capital of the state of Maryland, Annapolis is located on the Chesapeake Bay, south of Baltimore and east of Washington DC The city is loaded with colonial history, quaint shops, excellent restaurants, and is home to the United States Naval Academy. In addition to being the state capital, Annapolis is also referred to as the Sailing Capital of the World because of its proximity to the water and numerous marinas and yacht clubs.

Annapolis is located just West of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, the gateway to all points east - Ocean City, Rehoboth Beach, Assateague Island - and more destinations along the Mid-Atlantic Seaboard. For this reason and many others, Annapolis is a popular stopping point for those from Washington DC, Baltimore, and Northern Virginia, who travel Route 50 East to the beach during the summer months. Griffin's West is located right off of Route 50, at the intersection of Route 2 and West Street. Those visiting downtown Annapolis will want to check out Griffin's City Dock restaurant, which you can visit by clicking on the Griffin at right.
